Fanjingshan, the main peak of the Wuling Mountains in Tongren, Guizhou, is a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, a national 5A-level tourist attraction and a sacred Buddhist shrine known as the Pure Land of Brahma. It is also a member of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Programme, boasting the richest biodiversity at the same latitude worldwide, honored as the Gene Bank of Animals and Plants. The mountain features primitive and wild scenery, with four fantastic celestial wonders: cloud waterfalls, Zen mist, mountain mirages and Buddha’s halo, creating an ethereal and mysterious atmosphere all year round. Covered by primeval subtropical forests with a forest coverage rate of 97.6%, it is the exclusive habitat of the rare Guizhou golden snub-nosed monkey, alongside thousands of unique wild flora and fauna endemic to the region.
梵净山坐落于贵州铜仁，是武陵山脉主峰，为联合国教科文组织认定的世界自然遗产、国家5A级旅游景区，也是素有梵天净土之称的佛教圣地，同时列入联合国人与生物圈保护网络。这里拥有全球同纬度最丰富的生物多样性，被誉为动植物基因库。整座山林原始洪荒，拥有云瀑、禅雾、幻影、佛光四大天象奇观，常年云雾缭绕，意境空灵神秘。山林覆盖大面积原始亚热带阔叶林，森林覆盖率高达97.6%，是珍稀动物黔金丝猴全球唯一栖息地，生长着数千种区域特有野生动植物。
1. Hongyun Golden Summit (New Golden Summit) 红云金顶（新金顶）
The landmark core attraction of Fanjingshan stands at an altitude of 2336 meters with a vertical drop of nearly 100 meters, hailed as the No.1 Fantastic Peak under heaven. The upper half of the steep stone spire is split by the Golden Knife Gorge into two separate peaks, connected by a narrow stone bridge suspended above the abyss. On the south peak sits the Shakyamuni Hall enshrining Sakyamuni Buddha representing the present world, while the Maitreya Hall on the north peak worships Maitreya Buddha symbolizing the future, carrying profound Buddhist philosophical meaning. The peak is often wrapped in red auspicious clouds at dawn, hence the name Hongyun Golden Summit, which sounds the same as "Good Fortune Summit", bringing blessings of good luck to pilgrims. Climbing the summit requires grabbing iron chains on nearly vertical stone steps, offering thrilling and panoramic views of endless sea of clouds and rolling mountain ranges after reaching the top.
红云金顶是梵净山标志性核心景观，海拔2336米，垂直高差近百米，被誉为天下第一奇峰。险峻石峰上半部分被金刀峡一分为二，两座孤峰由一座悬于万丈深渊之上的窄石桥相连。南侧山峰建有释迦殿，供奉现世释迦牟尼佛；北侧为弥勒殿，供奉未来弥勒菩萨，蕴含深厚佛学寓意。清晨时分山峰常被红色祥云环绕，得名红云金顶，谐音鸿运金顶，寓意鸿运当头。攀登金顶需手扶铁链行走在近乎垂直的石阶上，登顶后可俯瞰无边云海与连绵群山，体验惊险壮阔的极致风光。
2. Mushroom Stone 蘑菇石
As the most recognizable symbol of Fanjingshan, Mushroom Stone stands about 10 meters high with a wide upper section and narrow lower part, shaped exactly like a giant wild mushroom. This marvelous geological relic was formed after 1.4 billion years of long-term wind and water erosion, seemingly ready to topple at a glance yet standing firm for billions of years on the mountain ridge, embodying the Buddhist wisdom of a peaceful ordinary heart. Next to it lies the Ten Thousand Scrolls Stone, layered shale rock stacked neatly just like piles of ancient Buddhist scriptures, forming a matching set of fantastic stone landscapes favored by photographers and painters worldwide.
蘑菇石是梵净山辨识度最高的标志景观，石体高约10米，上宽下窄，外形酷似巨型蘑菇。这块奇妙地质遗迹历经14亿年风雨流水侵蚀雕琢而成，一眼看去摇摇欲坠，却稳稳屹立山脊亿万年，暗含佛家平常心的哲理。蘑菇石旁便是万卷经书石，层叠页岩整齐堆叠，如同散落的古佛经卷，二者组成成套奇石景观，深受全球摄影、绘画爱好者喜爱。
3. Buddhist Culture & Ecological Features 佛教文化与生态特色
Fanjingshan has been a vital Buddhist sacred land since the Tang Dynasty, honored as the Bodhimanda of Maitreya Buddha and China’s Fifth Great Buddhist Mountain, second only to the four traditional Buddhist holy mountains. Temples such as Cheng’en Temple built on the mountain preserve long-standing Buddhist pilgrimage culture, attracting countless believers to climb the mountain for blessings every year. Geologically, it is an isolated metamorphic rock island surrounded by karst landforms, retaining complete tertiary-era ancient biological groups and unique primitive mountain ecosystems rarely seen elsewhere on earth. The cool mountain climate all year round makes it a top summer resort in southwest China, ideal for escaping summer heat while enjoying natural scenery and Buddhist serenity.
梵净山自唐代起便是重要佛教圣地，是弥勒菩萨道场、中国第五大佛教名山，地位仅次于传统四大佛山。山间承恩寺等古刹传承千年朝圣文化，每年吸引无数信徒登山祈福。地质层面，梵净山是喀斯特地貌海洋中孤立的变质岩孤岛，完整留存第三纪远古生物群落，拥有全球罕见的原生态山地生态系统。山间全年气候凉爽，是西南顶级避暑名山，游客可在此避暑纳凉，同时欣赏自然风光、感受静谧禅意。
